Benzoyl peroxide in acne cleansing products

blog-img

Cleansing problem skin often requires special care and effort. If you have inflammatory acne, choosing the right cleanser can be the first step in combating breakouts. This will help rid your skin of bacteria that penetrate clogged hair follicles and lead to inflammation. Thorough cleansing also removes dead cells from the surface of your skin, making it easier for the skin to absorb acne treatment products.

In this article, we will discuss the features and varieties of cleansing formulations with benzoyl peroxide.

When are benzoyl peroxide cleansers necessary?

To help control breakouts, which are often caused by an excess of C.acne bacteria, a gentle cleanser is needed, but strong enough to cleanse your skin. Harsh cleansers and scrubbing can negatively affect the skin, as they may provoke irritation that can contribute to acne flare-ups.

If your skin is prone to breakouts, do not hesitate to consult your dermatologist. The doctor will select the necessary skincare products for you, whether for prevention or treatment of acne. Professional cleansing and washing are essential steps in your daily skincare routine.

So, which product will be effective for inflammatory breakouts caused by C.acne bacteria?

The Perolite™️ line features acne-cleansing products. These products contain benzoyl peroxide, which effectively fights the cause of acne - the C.acne bacteria.

The Perolite™️ cleansers are available in liquid form and as soap.

Among the available options, there are different concentrations of the active ingredient - benzoyl peroxide:

  • The Perolite Face Wash 1% - for very sensitive skin and during remission.

  • The Perolite Face Wash 2% - for sensitive skin and during the remission stage.

  • The Perolite Face Wash 3% - for patients with normal skin, and also effective during acne flare-ups.

  • Perolite Soap with benzoyl peroxide - 2.5% - suitable for normal skin during remission.

  • Perolite Plus Soap with benzoyl peroxide 1.25% and clindamycin 0.1% - used by patients with sensitive skin during acne flare-ups.

However, it is important to use benzoyl peroxide with caution, as improper use can lead to irritation and dryness of the skin. Here are some tips for using benzoyl peroxide:

  • Start with a low concentration: for example, 1% or 2.5% and gradually increase the concentration if your skin tolerates the treatment well.

  • Maintain intervals: apply the product once a day to avoid excessive exposure to the skin.

  • Use moisturizers: after using benzoyl peroxide, be sure to use a moisturizer to prevent dryness and irritation of the skin.

  • Avoid contact with eyes and the area around the eyes: as this may cause irritation.

  • Apply using a dispenser: to avoid overdosing the ingredient, use products with a dispenser, like in Perolite Face Wash. This will allow you to accurately dose the amount of product.

  • Pay attention to your skin's reaction: if you experience severe irritation, redness, or dryness, stop using benzoyl peroxide and consult a dermatologist.

Although benzoyl peroxide can be an effective treatment for acne, it is important to remember that each person has different skin sensitivities, so reactions may vary. If you have doubts or questions about using these products, it is best to consult a dermatologist for advice and an individualized approach to treatment.
